9: 9112 or Dome Rock (cool huge obscure rock formations). Unranked: Sentinel Rock or Mt Crest Crags (fun, obscure, great views)

https://listsofjohn.com/peak/4095
https://listsofjohn.com/peak/214939

8: Long Scraggy or Cathedral Spires (good views and fun climbs)

https://listsofjohn.com/peak/4627

7: The Palisade (fun climbing and great views. My first roped summit climb)

All great peaks! It is fun to see the lower peaks get noticed on this site once in awhile!

Precisely why I started this thread :) Prominence, views, and good scrambling all have as much to do with how fun a climb is as elevation in my book.

So Scott, you're saying the highest point is the easy "ear" with the old cables bolted into it? That's suprising to me, but OK. Huh...go figure. Fwiw, I've climbed that one too long ago. Maybe 5.0? but I suspect there's a sub-5th class scramble somewhere.

No, other way around.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

14er: Quandary. Before you scoff, look at all it has: an easy route with safe midwinter backcountry skiing above treeline; an introductory 3rd class route; the more technical Inwood Arete; a reliable spring snow climb and ski with Cristo as well as Q Couloir. It’s a popular peak with more options than most consider.
13er: L. Just look at it from a distance. The standard route has a knife edge an imposing summit block and one of the best positions in the Gore.
12er: Peak 1. A wealth of ski options.
11er: :-k
10er: Wichita. A hidden gem in plain sight.

14er: Wetterhorn, because it is the perfect 14er, here is why...https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/triprepo ... trip=20302
Worst: Challenger, that trail is awful; it’s the only thing that keeps Kit Carson from being popular, so maybe that’s a good thing?
Princeton, she’s a beautiful bitch, gorgeous profile, but a slog to hike.

13er: Music or Jagged, fun, airy, good times
Worst: Hoosier Ridge, more ups and downs than an afternoon quickie, and is far less satisfying.

12er: Gothic Mountain, the name, the views,
Worst: East Cement Mountain, not really the worst, but no reason to go back or to recommend it.

11er: Cascade Mountain, the wildflowers were amazing
Worst: Snodgrass Mtn, trail was fine, but no views at the top

10er: ???

9er: Do the stairs to my front door count?

Nice! I’ve been meaning to do your favorite 11ers but probably won’t until it gets snowier again. Are you on LoJ?

Yay Colorado Springs summits! A lot of those are fun. My favorite 10ers and 9ers are not too far away. Apparently I like Almagre a lot too, based on the number of times I’ve done it. It does have cool views of Pikes Peak, despite it being maybe not the most exciting looking mountain itself.

13er North Apostle
12er Mt. Adams (WA)

If you aren’t thirsty, you brought too much water.
If you aren’t hungry, you brought too much food.
If you aren’t scared, you brought too much gear.
If you made it to the top, it was too easy anyway.

I’m seeing a lot of recommendations for The Castle on here. Would you recommend rope? I consider myself a fairly good gym climber and have done some tough traverses like the Bells and the Crestone traverse but nothing roped in outdoors.
