Mt. Princeton Alternate Route

Post by 123tqb »

No, not wondering about Grouse Canyon (although that route does seem interesting).

I was wondering if anyone has any beta on what looks to me to have potential for a Sawatch scrambling route: Mt. Princeton's north ridge. I attached both a GPX and JPG map of the line I would try to follow if I were to attempt this ridge. I can't seem to find any info on it!

My best guesses to why nobody seems to climb this include: the signature Cottonwood Pass bushwhack required to approach, the relative brevity of the technical portion of the ridge compared to the overall route length, or the idea that the rock quality is probably similar to Missouri's East Ridge. I always see the gendarmes from downtown Buena Vista, so I thought I'd see if anyone has considered trying this!
