Don't let people pretend they "own" land they're not using
I don't know what's stupider, dropping a Nazi reference in a hiking v private property debate, or arguing that if you're not actively using something you can't own it. Oh wait, yes I do.

This is interesting I never knew about this. Was it ever actually implemented? Even the DOI press release about it from 2012 uses "proposed" and "intends to donate" which makes me think nothing ever was actually finalized? I can't find really much of anything that doesn't use similar language and nothing more recent than 2012. Absolutely nothing about the SCCA on the FWS website which would be the administer of the area.

I wish I knew. The pessimist in me would say that this was all PR and it will be implemented when the guy dies. The optimist in me just thinks that lawyer stuff moves at a pace that's slower than a moving glacier, and all the glaciers will be gone before this gets finalized.

I support reintroducing grizzlies and wolves to their historic ranges.

I'm sure "Gazpacho" was intended.

The closure starts at nearly 13k from public lands. They're not about to put a guard up there and I don't think a hiker would have to worry about some Gestapo officer on an ATV like they would on Culebra.
Yeah, you could presumably hike it, keep it to yourself, not post anything public about it. Also, don't get hurt and don't need SAR because that will get known and will make a mess because you will then be a known trespasser.

But if you otherwise want others, some day, to see a security guard who will escort them off back to the public land where they came from, then go ahead and brag about it as much as you can on social media, and here as well.
You never know what the landowner might come up with. Escorting people off is probably the most they can do, considering that the sheriff clearly has more urgent things to do than sending deputies to hike to 13,000 ft at the public land boundaries to cite and/or arrest the trespassers.
Also, cameras are a thing, and they may catch a nice picture of your face, and the owner may use it at their discretion once they found out they have your personal info from the public posts you made about your hike!

So, seriously, just go find other peaks to hike for this year. How many 13ers do you have left?

Just as a quick rec, I'd suggest doing California's North Ridge via the Zapata Trail (1 mile from the Lily Lake TH) if you're in the basin and going for California. The slope up from Lily Lake is a mess of loose talus, and, while the lake is gorgeous, the push to the summit ridge is not. The N Ridge is class 1+ (maybe a few seconds of class 2) and a beautiful tundra walk. Also, the last mile to the Lily Lake TH is the toughest part of the road, so your car will thank you.

I second this recommendation!! That slope up from Lily Lake is no fun, especially when wet. I probably would have turned back if I hadn't known I could continue over California and use the class 1 route/trail to descend.

Definitely interested!! Any directions I don't remember seeing a trail a mile before the lake. Probably because I wasn't looking. This is different from the alternate , shorter descent route listed here? Also not sure if road is fixed currently 4wd recommended on here. Really needed clearance before imo. Really going for the record made it <1mi to TH in low clearance 2wd. Probably not doing that again :D

Definitely interested in lily lake this might be easier though

Check out caltopo scanned topos later for the area. Follow the north ridge until you see a trail. It's named as Raspberry trail and follows the wilderness boundary to the trailhead road. .
There's a few reports here that have pictures and stuff.
