Avoiding the discussion of actual legalities in this country / state / county, and instead focusing on the discussion of ethics, perhaps it would be a good time to refer people in this discussion to the doctrine of "freedom to roam" that exists in a bunch of other countries.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_to_roam

Although the details vary, the essence of it is: access to all land by a human in their most basic human form (i.e. a human on their feet, not a human in a 4 wheeler) is principal to the definition of being a human, is connected to human lineage irrespective of the current governing entity, societies and laws are somewhat arbitrary by nature and come and go over the centuries, therefore "freedom to roam" shall not be restricted to the extent that it does not demonstrably disturb another human's ability to use land that they have otherwise been designated exclusive use by the current governing entity.

For example: walking across a manicured front lawn near a house occupied by people that can easily see out the window may be restricted, but passing through remote land out of sight where the only evidence is a game camera is not restricted.

I like to summarize "freedom to roam" with my own short version of it: If you wouldn't be mad that an elk did it, you shouldn't be mad that a human did it. It fits reasonably well in most circumstances: elk eating my manicured lawn and rose bushes? Mad. Elk on a game camera in my back 40 acres? Not mad. Elk tearing up my back 40 acres driving a 4 wheeler? Mad (but highly intrigued).

it was lawyer advice - make it known, make public notice of it, post the trail. makes it much harder for some unemployed asshat who twists his ankle to sue. cover their legal bases and all.

i highly doubt they're gonna actively try and keep people off this peak. much a ado about nothing... but always good find a another reason to hate the patriarchy and unite the workers amiright??

Careful. You might get flamed by the resident Socialist Workers Party members, MisseryPilgrim and his stooge, Davey Boy.

It would be interesting if there’s a way to plan a Winter ascent/Ski-Board trip on Lindsey with the ranch. For those who have gone in Winter, would a snowmobile be feasible up the road a few miles from ranchero?

After seeing Bill's new iOS app thread for 14ers.com and a certain image that showed a warning message for Mt. Lindsey, I went to check if the same thing happens on the PC version. Sure enough, after I clicked "routes" I got a warning message. After clicking "more info" on the warning message, I got linked directly to this thread. So, I guess that's pretty interesting.
