Favorite 14er?!?

Post by Ans015 »

I know this has been done, but I always enjoy these threads. I have only done Longs and Evans, but I can’t imagine anything being better than the day I had on Longs! What’s your favorite!? Im planning my next one!

La Plata.

It is the enjoyable sort of mountain that was 10x better with fall colors and snow last year. Really nice trip.

This weekend I just really enjoyed castle and conundrum. They were very pretty and not as bad as I thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed Uncompahgre. I'd probably have to say it was my favorite overall, with Handies being a close second. But I really felt most rewarded after Mt. Lindsey. There were things I loved about nearly every single 14er I've done though.
Seems like the times that I need a mountain the most are the times that I can not get to them.

Crestone Needle is my favorite, but I never get tired of Longs Peak.

Needle probably as it is just a fun route and South Colony Lakes is a pretty area. I did enjoy Holy Cross because turning that corner and seeing the mountain for the first time is awesome!

Wetterhorn - it separated "before" and "after" in terms of thinking that I could do them all.

Sneffels, for so many reasons.

Eolus, the Uncompahgre, and the Bells are close behind.

If Longs was a few more hours away from the city and didn't have crowds...

Pyramid, it has the best view of the other Elks. It is also a fun climb.

Capitol if you’re staying on the ridge from Daly saddle all the way to summit. I would agree Pyramid’s views and short and sweet climb are super appealing as well
