Arapahoe Traverse Conditions

Post by BrenAuer237 »

Has anyone done the traverse between North/South
Arapahoe recently? If so, how are the snow/ice conditions looking right now?
Planning for a Saturday outing.

I haven't been up there this year but I would expect mostly dry conditions. We got a rain shower in Westminster early am Monday but not much. Afternoons are still mostly in the 80's here.

Just did it today (9/23). There is some very light snow on some of the north-facing ledges and cracks. Not enough for spikes to help in any way, but enough to make some spots a bit slick or wet up the bottoms of your shoes. Still very doable, but did slow us down a bit to work around a few sections
