Re: "Sunlight Spire" LiDAR Elevation
When NAV22 becomes the reference next year they'll have to move the mile high marker up two steps (60 centimeters) on the State Capitol steps. I think its been repositioned three times in its history. Clever of them to account for survey revisions

Re: "Sunlight Spire" LiDAR Elevation
That's a switch as it seemed from NGVD29 to NAVD88 things were moving up about 5 feet. Now we're saying things are moving down about 1 1/2 feet.greenonion wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 11:58 am What does this mean for Sunshine Peak (next to Redcloud)? And Huron?
Looks like that would put Sunshine Peak as the highest 13'er. Huron the lowest 14'er.
I should be on a mountain

What about the purple line seats at Coors Field?

What does it say for Mount Ouray?
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
Re: "Sunlight Spire" LiDAR Elevation
I'm interested if this affects some of the "close" 14ers like Sunshine and Grizzly peak.
Re: "Sunlight Spire" LiDAR Elevation
Any data on whether Sunlight Spire has 300’ prominence? Making it now the highest 13’er?

Looks like for the time being they should be fine. However, a couple decades from now might be a different story.greenonion wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 11:58 am What does this mean for Sunshine Peak (next to Redcloud)? And Huron?

Re: "Sunlight Spire" LiDAR Elevation
I took a quick look at the saddle, and found it to be between 4203.3 and 4203.5 m. 4203.35 is a pretty good estimate. This would put the prominence at ~62.63 meters, or ~205.5 ft (4265.98m - 4203.35m). This is actually relatively close to the interpolated prominence at 215 ft, though it definitely doesn't always work out that way.

I'll take a look at some of the lower 14ers and higher 13ers soon. Possibly this weekend.
