The ridge from Deer definitely goes, it's about class 2-3 to the saddle. The true summit of 13,300 (not the grassy bump) was closer to class 4 (at least the way I went), but the rock is bomber. UN13,202 is fun also, not too hard with good route finding (there's a ramp that makes it way easier).

The marker is on a sub-summit that's just a gentle slope up from the Deer saddle. The actual summit is north of that, and apparently goes class 4+: https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/triprepo ... trip=14162.

Have fun with Deer -- North Fork Lake Creek is beautiful, and I really liked the hike up to the peak.
Thanks for letting me know! I’ll get that fixed.

Sorry, I don’t have anything to contribute on the ridge to 13300 because I haven’t done it. And the only route I have for Deer on the site is from the east.

I did 13202 and 13300 2 weekends ago and ducked under the summit of 202 as there’s a down climb off the summit that didn’t look friendly. For 300, especially if coming from Deer, I would go up the east face. I skirted on grassy ledges to the east face because I found the direct ridge to be more involved than I thought it would be. I was also carrying fishing gear as I fished the lake afterwards.

The other ridge south of Deer is worth noting there. In particular, south of 13445 (toward unnumbered 13415 esri Arc GIS) had some dim moments. Maybe not on your radar now, but it has it's draw in continuing toward the saddle of 13,736 and onward to Champion. Seem to recall an accident there a few years ago.

I hadn't heard of an accident, but I did the Deer --> 13736 --> Champion traverse last summer and will echo this sentiment. The drop down from 13445 (at least, as its marked on USFS topos) on your way to the Deer/13736 saddle is much spicier than it appears. I gave it my personal rating of class 3-R. Not particularly difficult, but extremely loose downclimb, not obvious best-choice on route, and a fall would certainly be a very bad situation given the terrain

It's loose, yes, but not the worst thing I've ever been on. My dog had no problem, and neither did another group+dog I ran into. Definitely not class 3 by the easiest route

Not exactly answering the OP here - but here are my thoughts on these peaks in the area. 13,202 & 13,300 are both fun scrambles. I'd recommend the route geojed took up 300 in his TR (https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/triprepo ... trip=12134). The low 5th chimney is solid as is most of the remaining class 3 & 4 to the summit. I liked the optional 5th on Deer (from Bill's RD) & continuing to K49 was loose in places for sure but still a good linkup. For descending K49 I went east as opposed to west off the ridge & went to what I've always joked of as "Sunglass Lake". Looking at the map I'm sure you will get what I mean. 8)

*edit* Bill's RD doesn't discuss the low 5th variation (I'm guessing it was in a TR I read) but its near the center of picture 23.
I'm horrible with names...
But will never forget a mountain's face!

The traverse from Hangerman Pass to Independence Pass is quite the tour of the area.

Don’t forget the traverse from Independence to Cottonwood. That would actually be quite the trip. Hagerman to Monarch. Go do it.. if you haven’t already. I’ll join for Indy to cottonwood or tincup. That’d be a nice day in the hills
