routes

Post by mrwatt6 »

I met a guy on a climb who had "saved" the 14ers.com Map w/Route line and was able to track his climb using the GPS mode of his iPhone against the saved route to make sure he was on the route. How did he do this? Thanks, Kent

There are a few different ways to do it. One of the easiest is probably to download the 14ers.com app. Then click on the peak of interest, select the desired route and click "Highlight Route on Main Map." Then on the map tab click on the icon with the circle/arrow to track your position in relation to the line.

Another option is to go to the route page on this site for the peak of interest and download the gpx file then open it with a navigation app such as GAIA.

^Right!

The first option is an easy way to simply show your location along the route line, on the map in the app.

Doing this is documented in the Settings->Help page of the app, under the MAP section.
