Apologies if I have missed something obvious, but does anyone know if people have or regularly ski down the Southwest of Greys.
I know most people ski the couliors on the NE face, but I was thinking of trying something different.
I figure that side of the mountain will be less avalanche prone, but I could see the snow being more windblown and cover more of an issue on that face.
New to Summit Co, so still trying to develop my understanding of the mountains.
Thanks

Re: Skiing the SouthWest face of Greys
I've skied that side on several occasions but it requires good planning to make sure there is adequate coverage and reasonable avy conditions. You'll have a longer approach from the SW. If you want to approach from the south, you're more likely to find better conditions in Horseshoe Basin, further up the road. Check out the South Ridge route on the .com. Just keep in mind that the road up Peru Creek crosses some avalanche paths.
