Re: Hikers Missing on Holy Cross
Yeah, pretty clear what got them helicoptered out was telling someone their hiking plans.

Pretty clear it was due to a plane, not a plan., that followed their tracks from a summit cell phone call. They were "miles" from where they planned to be.

I do love how people on this forum LOVE to trash the various news and media outlets for consistently repeating bad information in their stories, but will readily accept the same news and media outlets as gospel so long as it furthers their indignation and outrage for someone who had an incident in the mountains.

Didn't the info about "fixed wing aircraft" and "Harvey Lake" come from SAR and the military, not the news?

Need to add this to the "when are you an elite mountaineer" thread: when you never makes mistakes so it's cool to bash people that do as having "obviously" poor judgment.Derby Ale wrote:I do love how people on this forum LOVE to trash the various news and media outlets for consistently repeating bad information in their stories, but will readily accept the same news and media outlets as gospel so long as it furthers their indignation and outrage for someone who had an incident in the mountains.
