And...English is weird and sloppy. That's what happens when you fuse two languages with entirely different structures (French+German).
"The love of wilderness is more than a hunger for what is always beyond reach; it is also an expression of loyalty to the earth, the earth which bore us and sustains us, the only home we shall ever know, the only paradise we ever need – if only we had the eyes to see." -Ed Abbey
"I get scared sometimes—lots of times—but it's not bad. You know? I feel close to myself. When I'm out there at night, I feel close to my own body, I can feel my blood moving, my skin and my fingernails, everything, it's like I'm full of electricity and I'm glowing in the dark—I'm on fire almost—I'm burning away into nothing—but it doesn't matter because I know exactly who I am." from The Things They Carried

Of course we all know who the real Colorado Natives are:

Re: Injured hiker air lifted off Maroon Peak
I don't mean to jump on the anti-Texas bandwagon, but I'm going to go ahead and do that. Here is my conversation with a group of 4 hikers about a 1/3 of the way up the hike to Willow Creek Lake. One of the girls was coughing constantly and one of them had a big Coleman car camping tent strapped to the side of his pack.
Them: "How come you're not even breathing heavily"
Me: "I'm from Denver - I'm used to the altitude. Where are you guys from?"
Them: "Texas"
Me: "Are you going to summit the peaks tomorrow?"
Them: "We're going to try"
Me: "What's that for?" (pointing to the AUTOMATIC RIFLE (AR19) that he had strapped around his neck!!!)
Them: "bears"
Idiots
I doubt they made it much further. I know they didn't make it to the lake. Good thing they turned back.

Ar19? Automatic? Must have been a beast to carry it around his neck. I guess he's trying to help the grass grow better. You sound as ignorant as them Douglas.

I don't know the first thing about guns (and not ashamed in the least). That's what he said it was. Maybe he was the "ignoramus". Or maybe it was an AR 15 -I wasn't too focused on the number - more on getting away before he started shooting things.

But to be fair, not every Texan can be Gus, or Captain Call. Those are Texans I can appreciate. Too bad there aren't more of them.
