Such amazing news! Was expecting the worst...and was avoiding the thread for that reason.

But I took a quick gander and am incredibly happy to hear that he was found alive! YAY!

No kidding. I am wondering if he sustained himself by milking the mountain goat in the picture.

Yes! This had me worried.
Nobody climbs 14ers anymore, they’re too crowded.

Does anyone else think he looks like the Geico Caveman?

He looks a helluva lot better than I will at 66.

Great to see a happy ending, rough way to get a peak in. Next time, map and a compass man, map and a compass, stay oriented.

"followed around by mountain goats for days"

From the denver channel link...maybe climbing w/o drugs could keep you from becoming the goat whisperer.

Something about this seems confusing - how could you not know which direction (up or down the valley) that you're hiking?

I didn't read anything about drugs?

I understand getting turned around, but descending the east side instead of back down into the very obvious ampitheatre, I just can't fathom that. Unless maybe he never made it back to the saddle, in which case he was damn lucky to make it out alive.

The son said he saw him turn back up the trail then disappear. Yeah, there is more to this story. ha ha
