Thank you for your thoughtful post. I'm looking to his peers for a way to support the family during this tragic time. The identity of the climber has been revealed here:
Jason was a friend and colleague of mine. We summmited Longs together a short 36 days ago, his first summit of Longs and my 8th. A great day in the mountains, I toast to your memory and honor your family.

I sadly know the identity of the climber. He was both a peer in my profession and a good friend. He had never summited Long's Peak before, I had 7 times so I lead the expedition up there on October 1 of this year. Outstanding conditions and good times. You will be missed my friend. He is survived by his wife and 3 kids. He was a competent person, very smart, mindful and aware of the situation at all times. I can only imagine it was one of those freak things in the infamous looseness of the Bells.
I was devastated by this news earlier today.
Rest In Peace.. maybe a go fund me would be a good idea to help the family pay for funeral expenses.. I’d gladly make the first donation

Tragic to hear of Jason's fall and death...and even more sad to read he is survived by his wife and 3 children. I pray God will carry this family through this very difficult time.
Jason was a close friend. He was a fantastic father. He will be missed terribly by all who knew him
Please consider supporting his family through this tough time.
Here is a link to a Go Fund Me page https://gf.me/u/y74fhc
And celebrate him with a beer.
Hello friends, Jason Buehler is the climber that fell on Friday. I'm not a climber but a close friend. I figured I should tell his community who he was. Jason died doing what he loved. He had accomplished 33 14ers and was trying for them all. We set up a go fund me page for his wife and 3 small children if anyone would like to contribute. I can not post anything here so email me for details Odonnellnow@yahoo.com or look at Denver beer company website where he was the head brewer.
Thank you and Be safe out there
Very sad indeed. Donation done. Based on his resume, I’m sure I enjoyed some of his beer on more than one occasion. My condolences to his friends and family.
This is so sad to hear. Jason and I crossed paths often back in the day, even talked about tagging some peaks together before life took us both in their respective ways that it does with families, careers, and other priorities. The hops he gave me to plant at my house remain to this day, and grow great beer. All the beers drank at Denver Beer Co and those late nights at the Canworks won't be forgotten.
See you on the other side my friend. Deepest condolences.
