The blue car with the bike is his! SAR is going to do a flyover and go from there. Thank you so much for checking that out.

I am following this as well. The details of the timeline are a cause for concern. Best wishes for his safety to all his friends and family.

Can anyone tell me what trailhead, or at least what general area, they are searching? I'm in the San Juans, but maybe in a totally different area.

Hoping for the best possible outcome.

Candace, They found his car at Molas Pass Trailhead. I believe the search is focused on Trinities, Arrow/Vestal area.

I was camped in Vestal Basin last night, chopper activity all evening. Summited the Trinities today and watched a chopper land near the upper unnamed lake. Hoping for the best.

I hope that he is found safe. Strange that his phone was found on a trail.

The forest service vehicles and horses/alpaca are at the trailhead for blasting of the avalanche debris on the Elk Creek trail before the beaver ponds. When I went up Thursday the trail was temporarily closed for blasting.
