I was up at the pass today and saw a "parking permitted 7am - 7pm" sign. 7am seems a bit of a late start for some mornings, at least at my slow speed.
Has anyone tried parking there earlier than 7am for hiking? Any issues?

That signs been there for a few years. I’ve never had an issue parking before 7am at any time of the year. In fact on summer weekends if you showed up at 7am there might not be anything left…

Plus there are two parking areas a quarter mile down the west road.

I parked there starting at 4am a few weekends ago. No issues. Doesn't appear to be enforced.

Also parked there well after 7 with a full lot, no issues. Have seen people camping up there.
