Yes, hikers not road walkers

I'm not convinced that the Como "road" really qualifies as a road by any reasonable standard. At any rate, a car that would safely get significantly further up the Lake Como road than my Honda Civic would cost a fair bit more to operate (fuel, maintenance, repairs, etc.) than said Civic. I'd rather take that money and do more trips to the mountains and have better equipment on those trips, even if it means walking a few extra miles on my trips.I also like the idea of minimizing my impact on this planet on my trips to the mountains (or anywhere else).
