Cloyses Lake
It's been a couple decades since I have been to Cloyses Lake. I remember the road being ROUGH. I have a stock SUV Toyota Sequioa. Can it get across the Creek and up the road? Thanks in advance

Re: Cloyses Lake
i was up there a couple weeks ago, i think youd probably scrape a bumper/muffler getting out of the creek with a stock sequioa

It's the same lake. The name seems to depend on which map you look at.yaktoleft13 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 7:05 pmIs it not called Clohesy anymore? Or am i dumb and it's a different lake?Mtnman200 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 6:56 pm I was there in August, but others have been there since then:

Re: Cloyses Lake
I seem to recall scraping something climbing out of or into the creek so that sounds right.

First or second generation? There’s a big difference between the two. The old one is more capable and better approach/departure angles.

It’s an ‘08 with running boards that have seen a few rocks in their day!

Re: Cloyses Lake
It will make it. You might drag your spare tire/hitch if you have one. Also might scrape the running boards which sounds like won’t be a problem.

Re: Cloyses Lake
Made it up in Trd Tacoma twice in last two years. The roughest spot I found was getting up the bank out of the creek. Might want to spot that section before charging out of the creek, but you should be ok with the sequoia beyond that. Assuming no radical changes over the summer!

Re: Cloyses Lake
i recall exiting the creek being pretty steep and sort of similar to the creek crossing at Nellie, without the hard left. some ways after that there's a short baby head section and nothing else particularly noteworthy. it's a --BEAUTIFUL-- drive with the fall colors. have a great time OP, the tundra will do just fine.
