Colony Lakes camping

Post by Curtis Stoll »

I am going to be in South Colony Lakes next weekend and am planning on camping (I have never been there myself). Based on what I have been reading on previous posts and other sources.....it seems like there plenty of dispersed camping sites from the upper TH over to the actual lakes. Am I correct in that assessment or am I missing something? As a follow up.....does anyone have any suggestions for a good place to camp? Any favorite spots and approximate locations?

I also have a stock 18 Sierra with right around 9 inches (clearance that is). Based on what I have been reading and with recent grading....should be good right?

Any feedback is much appreciated!

Yup, plenty of camping and your truck will do fine.

My pleasure! Just try to camp away from the creek and LNT since it's a fragile, highly-used area. One of my favorite places in Colorado.

Your vehicle will be fine and there is a lot of spots to camp close to the lake. It is a pretty area. Have fun!

Keep your shoes/boots in your tent, otherwise mice might eat your shoelaces. It's a wonderful place, have fun!
