Re: Snow/Ice/Winter
I drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park after work on Wednesday to (finally) try getting moonlight shots with some of the recent snow. Here are two shots of the Twin Owls with nearly the same composition, taken a couple hours apart.
This first picture was shot during the blue hour (about 30 minutes after sunset) with soft blue light coming from the left and the warmer, more focused moonlight coming from the right.
f8, 24mm, 20sec, iso 800
Twin Owls at Twilight
The second image is all moonlight. I was bummed there weren't any clouds above Lumpy Ridge, but I did notice that occasional gusts of wind would blow snow off of the Owls. I stood waiting for about an hour trying to capture the perfect gust. It isn't often I hope for wind.

Re: Snow/Ice/Winter
Matt, that is astonishing. Completely surreal. Welcome home.
