Photoshop, Lightroom, or GIMP?

I use Photoshop Elements with the Google Nik plugin because that's what someone told me to purchase many moons ago. I would like to use Lightroom for faster batch processing; but I haven't bothered to buy it. PSE does what I need most of the time; albeit likely not as efficiently as LR would.
