Definitely an incredible dog and a very cool story. Polar shares a similar but much tamer story. I found Polar as a stray in a little mountain village when I was guiding in China (she most likely got lost from her previous owner), and she climbed the 17,7000 feet Haxaxushan with me. When I came back to the US I brought her with me.

A friend of mine was on this trip. He said the dog was pretty amazing.
I have myself witnessed and shared a summit with a dog. Not quite 7000m but it was on Aconcagua which is just shy of that.

Well the Russians sent a dog to space so they're wrong.but this is perhaps the highest-recorded elevation ever reached by a dog anywhere in the world.

Well technically, space would be out of this world.username72 wrote:Well the Russians sent a dog to space so they're wrong.but this is perhaps the highest-recorded elevation ever reached by a dog anywhere in the world.

I laughed at this too, but Sophie (Kushner's dog) is pretty damn impressive. She's done something like 150 14ers, including some difficult scrambles and winter routes.XterraRob wrote:We don't want to hear about the time your dog did a fourteener.![]()

Careful. You don't want to start a thread about a dog going up the LB hourglass...SurfNTurf wrote: I laughed at this too, but Sophie (Kushner's dog) is pretty damn impressive. She's done something like 150 14ers, including some difficult scrambles and winter routes.

Impressive but if measuring by peaks per pound Zero has everyone beat. 50 peaks over 13k and something like 65-70 ranked total. So she's at least 8 peaks per pound of dog.SurfNTurf wrote:I laughed at this too, but Sophie (Kushner's dog) is pretty damn impressive.
