I love my Rampart and Stradium pants. The Stradiums offer a 3/4 length side zip for venting or removal. Ramparts are lighter and stretchy with next-to-nothing feel.

Went to rei and ems today. Rei did not have a singlepair longer than 32 inseam. Well, one pair in the clearance with 38 waist. Found some ok pants, including some you guys recommended, but none ina 32x34 size. But seriously, other than the one pair, nothing in the entire store longer than 32.
Ems had a single pair of 32long pants.
I think iI am going to do mail order and see if iI can get delivery to the hotel. Ugh!

These probably suck for hiking but would make one hell of a fashion statement on the trail. Sometimes it's all about style over safety and comfort.

I exclusively ware pants hiking as well. I purchased the Guide Pro Pants from First Ascent/Eddie Bauer last season and I have been very pleased with them.

They provide shade, ventilation, protection, and fit into any cultural or social setting. Hammer pants it is!
