I often buy dog toys and other non-food supplies at discount stores like TJMAxx and have often found expired treats from unknown brands being sold there.

I LOVE the RW Palisades pack, my one is at least 8yrs old and has wear and tear but still great, they have redesigned the pack release since and i do not know how well that is vs the buckles but great company gear. I keep the dogs food (kibble) in plastic containers for day hikes and use freeze dried food for backpacking, lighter weight for the dogs, but i again keep it in the heavy duty ziplock bags. the compactor trash bag is a great suggestion, i use one in my backpacking bag!
