PLB Battery Replacement

Post by XterraRob »

I bought an ACR ResQLink in 2015 and figured it's overdue for a refresh. Is it better/easier/cheaper to get the battery changed out or to pick up a new one?

Battery replacement is $168 and 30+ days for replacement.

Older electronics make replacement sensible.

The device should have a sticker on it indicating when the battery needs replaced. Usually 5 or 6 years, so you should be overdue. I got my PLB battery replaced for $99.99 (looks like it’s up 10 bucks since then) from Solution One Marine in Florida. The process was very simple and quick turnaround of a ~week in 2020.
