I usually go about 1200-1300 vertical/hr, but am more than willing to go about 1000. I can do,Bierstadt in 2.5 hours up, Elbert in 3:45, Sherman in 1:45. Just FYI, be sure to start early enough to avoid storms in summer.

Re: Slow Hikers Unite!
This holiday weekend (Sun & Mon) I'm debating between Blanca and Ellingwood OR Spanish Peak on Sun then driving to Westcliffe Sun night and doing Rito Alto and Hermit on Monday.
Anyone? Backpack up horrible road or 2 day hikes? Anyone? Bueller? Carpool?

Re: Slow Hikers Unite!
I'm looking for weekend climbing partners as well! I have the fitness, the gear, I'm easy going and a great attitude!
High on my list this summer/fall:
Longs
Columbia
Blanca/Ellingwood - Tentative June 22-24 (possibly via North Ridge via South Zapata Creek)
Crestones
Snowmass
Pyramid
Chicago Basin
Repeat peaks via other routes like Halo Ridge on Holy Cross, Massive via East, and Torrey's Kelso Ridge route
My schedule does not free up until June 22/23 and I will be itching to get some trail time in!

Anybody in here looking for a partner this weekend? I am wanting to do something in the Sawatch. Planning on leaving Denver Saturday afternoon and hiking Sunday.

Always interested in Sawatch, especially alternate routes and 13ers. What did you have in mind?

Interested, for sure! We're hoping to do Redcloud/Sunshine and/or Handies this weekend! Definitely want to bag a few more this summer!

Yeah where in the Sawatch are you thinking. I'm in for Satursday night trailhead camp and a day hike Sunday only to avoid Monday traffic.TheSac wrote:Anybody in here looking for a partner this weekend? Just debating Sawatch or a Sangre 13er loop.
