46 year old male in great shape looking for a partner or partners to climb 18-20 peaks. Trip dates are May 12th - end of July 2021

My focus last year was to bang out 18 easy ones and now they have gotten more desolate and a little harder. I don't need anyone to hold a rope, but i'd like some company. Last year i met two guys i could have done it with again this year, but lost or did not obtain their contact information. I am doing more than climbing this trip in my Prius RV, but will concentrate my climbing due to the nature of my travels. Sometimes one or two at a time while in the end i plan on 12 all at once. I will need to acclimate once i get there, but after 3 weeks i will be a beast. I can hike very quickly for my old broken body so do not worry even if you are in your 20's?

My ground rules are simple:

4am or earlier wake-ups - if this needs to be explained in detail then you are not an alpine climber and will probably not make the cut

No stopping - if you have to rest briefly and i do this too once in awhile. I eat when i get to the top and rarely make breakfast or even make coffee to get out on time

We can add to the list - Nothing is in stone. I can add whatever you'd like to do as well. I am not as rigid as this appears

I like to camp near the trailhead if possible - exception would be finding a better site or not allowed to camp which is extremely rare

My Background:

I am a trained medic, nurse and survival expert. I will try to save your life and you will try to save mine! I bring all the gear needed so no to ultra-light. I might still be faster than you with my 35 pound pack? My trip this year will have several pack-ins. I love this and this is why the company is needed the most. Sometimes last year i was very alone. I have a Prius so me getting in may be slow or questionable, but i made it to places last year with no issues. I had to hammer on rocks last year to get out of a place and will do it again if needed?

My 2021 14'ers List:

Name Class Vertical Feet Miles

El Diente 3 4100 13
Sunlight 4 6000 17
Windom 2 6000 17
Eolus 3 6100 17
Uncompahgre 2 3000 7.5
Wetterhorn 3 3300 7
San Luis 1 3700 14
-Grays 1 6600 9
-Torreys 2 * *
Evans 2 4250 12
-Harvard 2 6000 12
-Mt. Columbia 2 * *
Yale 2 4300 9
Missouri 2 4500 10.5
Quandary 1 3300 6
Sherman 2 2100 5
Mt. Holy Cross 2 5600 12
Mt. Massive 2 4400 13.5
La Plata 2 4500 9
Mt. Belford
-Mt. Oxford

*Some of these may seem long and may involve a camp in to accomplish the mission. Mileage was added in. That's why it seems so long.

*Some of these may seem like an shorter vertical rise, but involve a rough drive in and road may be questionable. Mileage not added in.

*(-) The indented Peaks are doubles and there may be more in the list that could be doubled or tripled. I plan on doing as much of that as possible to crush the list.

*If i get a solid partner we can add whatever you like

Why am I having flashbacks of boot camp while reading this post?

why the hurry? most all of those peaks can be easily done at a moderate pace and finished well before afternoon storms.

I can’t imagine waking up before 5am in Summer minus a handful of trips..

If op wants to go fast and steady, and start very early, why should anyone else care?

We don’t care, some of us just think it’s funny. I say rock on

just making conversation.... not evaluative judgments.

OP, you seem to be all about discipline, and you have some strict criteria for partners. I'd focus less on discipline and more on judgment, though. For example, you talk about how you want to go without stopping or making breakfast. You should be focusing on researching weather to determine your window, looking up at the sky, and adjusting pace as needed. You should be discussing proper nutrition, and adjusting to how each partner's body responds to caloric intake in order to maximize efficiency (and happiness, quite frankly).

The same goes for safety -- you talk a lot about your survival background, but quite frankly you should be worried about not destroying your Prius that you "hammer on rocks" to get to/from a trailhead (especially since you're going for more remote peaks). The best survival strategy is to avoid being in a survival situation in the first place. Your partners need to be in great shape, but not once did you mention routefinding ability or experience as an important qualifier. I'd rather hike something dangerous with someone who's a little slow/overweight, but has great judgment and skill, than with a really fit guy/girl who has no idea what they're doing.

I've hiked over half the peaks on your 2021 list, and I've gotten up before 4AM for some of them too  . I don't think you're looking at this the right way. Good luck out there, and stay safe.

Is this something that we have to try out for? When are the auditions?

I didn't see snow mentioned the original post. Many years there can be considerable snow above treeline until July 1st. Passes and forest roads could still be closed until then too. If its a super snow spring like 2019, the snow could be well into July. Plus tons of avalanche closed paths.
