Re: 14er Short Film - Within Weakness
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm on the fence about submitting it to film festivals because it would start to fall into the gray area for a "commercial project" which is an issue for Wilderness areas. The Forest Service photo/video policies haven't been updated much since the 90's.Squirrellysquirrel wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 11:23 am wtrimble,
An a word: WOW!
Very impressed with your mental fortitude and continued desire to be up in the alpine air! I appreciate that you described your “identity” as “not a medical condition” in addition to your candid narrative about the experience of climbing 14ers. Moreover, the inclusion of Steve’s story was an exceptional addition; tragedy is, unfortunately, a trademark of this pursuit.
Thoroughly enjoyed the film! I encourage you to submit to places where your story can be more widely seen/heard... indy film festivals...? Your story and continued journey is inspiring and goes to show that with determination, great things are possible.
Congratulations on not only the accomplishment, yet also the technical skills to pull off a well-designed film.

Thank you. Yeah, for some reason it feels weird for me to update my peak list. I haven't touched it since Steve passed. I feel like I'll always have an asterisk next to North Maroon.

Will do! I feel very privileged to have incredible parents who value spending time in the high country as a family. I hope my daughter will feel the same when she is my ageBombay2Boulder wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 2:37 pm Very powerful! This was a very well done video, and I have to say pass my love to your parents, they seem total badasses and raised you well.

Re: 14er Short Film - Within Weakness
Thank you! Great question, I don't have any specific peak goals at the moment. I haven't done any sustained class 3 or 4 since N Maroon. I'm trying to carve out more time for family camping and backpacking trips.

That's an incredible story - it shows how even the most capable and experienced climbers can meet an unexpected end while those who society might tend to blow off can overcome. Both sobering and inspirational at the same time.
