14ers.com

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a statistic on most popular 13ers? Like there is for the 14ers.
Also, when clicking on the 13er stats, there's a breakdown of 13er finishers with an active link to who the finishers are, but not for the centennial finishers and/or the bicentennial finishers. Could there be one? I would find it interesting to see that, but maybe others don't?
I also think a tricentennial finisher breakdown would be interesting. I know of at least one member here who's goal is to finish that set of peaks, so I wonder if there's others (not that the data would state one's goal to go beyond tri's, etc.)

I will be very curious about this stat. Personally, I think the heaviest traffic might be on James or Sniktau, but will be very interested about the numbers.

If you click on the link to show all 13ers, it lists the number of member ascents listed on the site on the right side. Not exactly what you're looking for and not necessary gospel as to what 13er is the most popular, but at least gives you an idea.

For reference, the 13er with the most member ascents listed is Mt. Spalding. The ranked 13er with the most is Sniktau

I forgot about that. I wonder how hard it would be to have the option of selecting that column to sort by?

I'd vote for avoiding publishing 13er information, too many wahoos already advertise to the world how they didn't see anyone on their 13er yesterday, drawing more attention to them seems like a bad idea to me

For tables like these I usually select the all the columns and rows and then paste them into a Google Sheet and then sort by desired column. It's fun to see which peak you have climbed has the fewest ascents.

Just a total guess but I would imagine that the most popular 13ers would be:
1. Ones that can be climbed to/from/past a 14er with very little effort, like Spalding, Gemini, Pt. 13971 (Princeton), Red Mountain (Culebra), etc.
2. Next would probably be the "easy" high 13ers, for those who are starting to try to climb the centennials (there are actually quite a few of these in terms of being class 1/2).
3. After that would be 13ers that are easily accessible.
4. Finally the bicentennials.
That's a total guess though.
I would like to see the data, although I understand the reluctance of "13ers World" to reveal their secrets.

Agreed! I do the same in LoJ.

I think beyond the easier ones, especially front range, and 14er neighbors and cents, the 13ers that are county and wilderness highpoints would be next most popular, as well as those with higher prominence. The least climbed of the non-technical ones would be in the remote san juans, on private land, and other access issue ones in the watershed and Bartlett.

They didn't see anyone because thirteeners suck, thirteeners are stupid, and only stupid heads climb them. Real climber do fourteeners, and if they finish, they do them again.

You can find these stats on Lists of John (albeit with a different and smaller user base, but one that's partially shared with 14ers.com):

• Most climbed 13ers
• Least climbed 13ers

Not exactly what you're looking for, Darin, but a good enough approximation most likely. Note that the LoJ lists only show the top 50 ranked peaks for most/least. If you want to you can copy and paste the list(s) on this site into an Excel spreadsheet and sort that way. I've done that several times, both for overall and personal statistics (this works on personal checklists too).
