sub-summit trip reports

Post by daway8 »

So I recently discovered that the 14er sub-summits do show up as options in the drop-downs for a conditions report but they don't show up as drop down options for trip reports (either for posting or viewing).

I realize sub-summits are a niche market so to speak but since they're already selectable in the conditions drop down it seems like it maybe wouldn't be too hard to add them to the trip report drop downs...??? It would make searching for (and providing) beta for these fun peaks easier...

I just went back and looked at my TR. You used to be able to reference them. Not sure what Bill changed. DYBM!

South Little Bear is the only sub summit that matters.

You obviously haven't done Northeast Crestone - that was totally sweet!!! (though I in turn have yet to do South Little Bear).

I tagged Crestone Peak in the TR just so that there will be a way to find it once it falls down off the current list. I see old TR's where people somehow tagged the sub-summits but it no longer allows you to select them.

Hopefully just some minor tweak to the code that Bill will eventually get a chance to fix...

It's silly that North Massive is on the winter list.

Disagree but only because the short scramble off North is literally the only thing that makes a Massive snowflake the tiniest bit fun and not 100% slog.

You misspelled Sunlight Spire, which despite not having a 4 in its elevation anymore, still has a 3 and thus is worthy of climbing

Actually, it is EXACTLY what I'm missing down there! After reading that recent story of encountering the land owners - your route seems to make the most sense! \:D/

You'll love it! 3 miles there and back of total bliss. You might even talk me into a 3rd go.
