who did have a bit of a way with words even back in the day and a thing for mountain tops, too. he wrote:

Über allen Gipfeln
ist Ruh,
in allen Wipfeln
spürest du
kaum einen Hauch;
die Vögelein schweigen im Walde,
warte nur, balde
ruhest du auch!

If it were him, he would have posted his Walpurgisnacht ascent of the Brocken in the TR's section...

And it remains he. ](*,)
It looks like the ridge is just right up there!

Interestingly I would never have learned about this thread if I hadn't been chatting with Zippy McCrackNut and The Vertical Pimp a couple of days ago. I haven't been to the summit of anything in a long, long time.

Ahhh, Zippy. I stuffed his head into a crack the other day, it was very satisfying. Not as satisfying as using the vertical-pimp's services, but satisfying nonetheless.

 :-# :-"
As if none of us have ever come back with a cool, quasi-epic story instead of being victim to tragic rockfall, a fatal stumble, a heart attack, an embolism, a lightning strike, a bear attack, collapsing cornice, some psycho with an axe, a falling tree, carbon monoxide, even falling asleep at the wheel getting to a mountain. If you can't accept the fact that sometimes "s**t happens", then you live with the illusion that your epic genius and profound wilderness intelligence has put you in total and complete control of yourself, your partners, and the mountain. How mystified you'll be when "s**t happens" to you! - FM

Who is but the form following the function of what - and what I am is a man in a mask.

Well, I can see that....

Of course you can. I am not questioning your powers of observation -- merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is....

Are you like...a crazy person?

I am sure they will say so....

Umm... I'm honored, I guess? I showed some solidarity with the Baron when he was booted from the forum a while ago and now everyone thinks he is me? Thanks for giving me the heads up on this thread, Andy! Entertaining for sure! You've all got way too much time on your hands!

I may have too much time on my hands, but not enough to start a V for Vendetta secret society on the internet. Am I missing something here, was this brought up in a previous thread as to why there are 5 or 6 different people with the masked man from that movie? Significance? Hidden meaning? Rebelling against something?

Just curious.
