Looks like Andrew's blog is being updated, while he's doing his thang -

It also has links to his Delorme and other things, on the left hand side,

I'll tell ya what in the SPOT vs. Delorme challenge, looks ike Delorme's page to share your tracks is a lot nicer looking. Wonder if it, "forgets" your tracks, after 10 days like SPOT does - that's a big annoyance. Dunno if Trackleaders.com supports Delorme, yet - my guess is that it's a no.

Anybody have insight into how "on schedule" the north-bound train is in relation to the Needleton stop? I've been on the train once and took it from a different wilderness stop (and didn't know when it was supposed to arrive). Is it typically not late? Can it be early and does it pass by before 11:15 thus making you miss it even if you are on time? This is some interesting consideration for this type of goal. If I were to take the train from Needleton on a typical leisure hike, I'd probably get there an hour early and hang out (maybe drink a few brews I stored in the river).

I'd be tempted to just run back out to the highway and avoid having to rely on the train at all, but I'm sure Andrew (and Homie) have carefully considered the trade-offs.

My Spot track had a point very close to Andrew's 10:27 am point. Took me an hour to get to the train from there. Pretty sure I stopped for water at New York Creek and was walking casually, though. So, I think he'll be fine. But get a move on, Andrew! You're cutting it close!

James should be there to flag the train, though.

Anyone know what's the cause of the lag? No updates for like 40 minutes then they all filled in. Delorme? Wordpress? Both?

Last update shows his speed at 7.6 mph, he's running. Looks like he will make it though.

Yup, think he started running. He'll probably be hearing the train before he gets back, which will surely be nerve-wracking but motivating for him.

I am making the assumptions that a) the train was not extremely early and b) he did not fall into the river crossing the bridge.
