Re: Summer mountain home
Thanks for the suggestions. Is La Veta that much cooler than Denver ? Maybe the weather info I found was not for 9k feet, but the average high in July is almost 90F according to Accuweather.

Re: Summer mountain home
The address and listing shows La Veta, but it's actually south of there in the village of Cuchara (elevation 8650'). This home is at a higher elevation than the actual village, and is across the street from the entrance to the now defunct Cuchara Mountain (Ski) Resort. There are less expensive condos in that resort, at an even higher elevation, by the way (like $59K) which would be another option.jomagam wrote:Thanks for the suggestions. Re: Summer mountain home
Here you go:
https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/l ... ect/11_zm/
46 acres on the side of Mt Bross.
Don't let the fact that there are no utilities or road access deter you -- that just adds to the rustic charm that people love when renting.
And while Park County won't let you build a residence up there, just fill that lot full of tiny houses on trailers -- people will be dying to book those on AirBNB.
You'll be able to climb Mt Bross every day! Living at that altitude will condition you so that you'll be a machine on other mountains as well.
You're welcome.

Re: Summer mountain home
I would buy that in a hearbeat if it included the summit!!!! Then I could sit up there in a lawn chair and charge people $100 to touch the summit.jtallerday wrote:Here you go:
