Since we're getting close, wondering if anyone has some more insight on the road (or just general San Juan snow conditions). Greatly appreciated!

call the visitor center or the hinsdale county maintenance dept (visitor center will give you the phone number). They're always friendly on the phone, but I've found the information to not always be 100% reliable.

check the online offroading websites, basically google alpine loop conditions. They have updates and/or forums on road conditions usually

Planning to head up to Handies Southwest Slope Trailhead this weekend.

Any recent updates on the roads? Alpine Loop and the 4x4 section to the trailhead?
I'll be in a 2wd tundra, fairly high clearance.

thanks!
