Mt. Lindsay Fall color status?

Post by climbforthesoul »

Hey all,

Does anyone have any beta on the Fall Colors the the Huerfano/Lilly Lakes trail-head?

I am assuming they should be pretty good right about now.

I was up at Lindsey Monday and the colors are really good along the Lily Lake trail for sure! All the large stands to the south that you can see from the summit are still getting there however, and same with most of the aspens at lower elevations all around the area. Hopefully it will progress nicely for the upcoming week. Enjoy! \:D/

I hiked to Lily Lake yesterday. Was not impressed with the colors on the trail. BUT the colors on the drive to the trailhead are SPECTACULAR. Worth the drive even if you don't hike. I have been out photographing fall colors for the past 2 to 3 weeks and the drive was the best I have seen in this part of the state.

You're probably more familiar with it than I am, I'd really recommend clearance on that road. But the views of Blanca etc are amazing, near the TH, whether theres color or not. Hoping to get back up to try California again.
I support reintroducing grizzlies and wolves to their historic ranges.
