Marshall Pass Road Status
Is the Marshall Pass Road open to the pass summit and the TH to West Ridge of Mt Ouray?

My guess is with the recent snow that the Forest Service has closed the road for the winter (the winter closure is around 9 miles from the summit I believe), but you should call the Gunnison Ranger District at 970-641-0471 to confirm this.

I called that number and was informed that the road to the TH from the west side is still open. The ranger thought the road from the east (i.e. 285 south of Poncha) should also be open but wasn't 100% sure. I tried calling the Salida office and left a message. If I hear anything else I will update this thread.

Re: Marshall Pass Road Status
Thanks everyone. I am going to go up from the west side on Saturday and do Ouray and possibly Chipeta.

Looks like there will be a couple more of us down there Saturday. Not starting too early as we are coming from the city. Perhaps will see some of you out there.

Re: Marshall Pass Road Status
Marshall pass road from the west is clear.
It took me 1 hour to do the 17 miles due to numerous dips in the road ( for water runoff?) the last 10 miles. Several hunting camps along the road.
