Camping near trailhead at Grays Peak and Guanella Pass

Post by jrobertsonweb »

Hey Guys,

Flying in from Atlanta in early September to climb Grays and Torreys and then Bierstadt and Evans. Can I camp near the trailheads at both locations - Grays TH and Guanella TH? Anyone have experience in these areas?

Thanks!

The summer TH of Grays has many dispersed campsites; there's limited dispersed campsites along Guanella Pass in specific places

Thanks for the heads up on the limited options on Guanella Pass. I did a bit more research and it sounds like planning to camp anywhere along the pass road isn't a good idea.

Does anyone have suggestions for a good, relatively close camping option in the area for early September? If we can find a designated spot along Guanella Pass Road, that would be great, but I'd like to have a plan "B". Thanks!
