I have a “kind of” location to look. It’s old and smelly but it’s really my favorite.

East slopes trailhead. From Halfmoon road.
location kind of... from the person who saw it- I saw the Beanie! Forgive me, I was spaced out and didn’t grab it. It’s nestled in some rocks on the ascent of the first false peak. Where the trail splits, it’s on the left side of the left trail, closest side to the lake.
My friend- I believe it is above the weird sort of rock alcove(on the left) just before you start the steep ascent of the false summit. The trail will start to go right around the side of the mountain.
