^ But what if we think that this episode deserves Nobel Prize, does that mean that we are just the right age? And Margaritaville deserves it too. And Over Logging most likely, but John Steinbeck would have complained that it is too derivative.

But I digress, this thread is about music:

This is amazing. I'll keep up the facade to play along (and not remind anyone that my age is listed on my profile).

Dude has so many great classics. I said it. Actually heard a sweet interview with him the other day and was spurred on to watch the movie. Pretty enjoyable overall I thought.

Good call on the Bowie tribute above and nice jazz additions there Carpe.

I thought the movie was OK, cool blend of "musical", history, and use of the music. Didn't realize Pinball Wizard was an Elton John song... learn something every day!

Sarcasm or not, it's not even funny to post something like this. Not at this time. Reported.

Pinball Wizard was written by Pete Townsend and was on The Who’s Tommy album (1969). Elton John performed the song in the Tommy movie release.

The best Elton John....

Agreed. I also really dig "Madman across the water" and "Levon".

And today is the day Pete Townsend helped Eric Clapton get his life back together from his heroin addiction by putting together the Rainbow Concert (1/13/73).
