Huron Peak 4WD Trailhead

Post by apkue98 »

I see a post from August 23rd stating that "As of August 23 the road to Lulu Gulch is closed and gated at the junction with CR 390 (the road to the standard Huron trailhead)." Does anyone have a current status on it to verify if the 4WD trailhead is accessible?

Thank you!

as of last sunday the road 390 was fine to the camping spot in winfield. road was pocked marked but nothing terrible the whole way to winfield
as for the left turn at the cabins was open, did not go past the open field for camping though there was plenty of traffic driving that way.
What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - That's all I need the ashtray, the remote control, the paddle game, and this magazine, and the chair and I don't need one other thing, except my dog.
[Shithead growls at him]
I don't need my dog.

We hiked up Huron Peak from the standard 4WD trailhead on Monday (8/29). Got to the trailhead at about 6:30 a.m. with no issues. It took 15 or 20 minutes to get there from Winfield. No bad really, just a little slow.
I don't know about a gate on the Lulu gulch road. We didn't go that way and really didn't even notice the turn off.
