He might be on to something... I hiked more 12ers than 13ers and 14ers combined in 2022.
I rarely saw anyone & have no regrets (not even a letter). :lol:

On a semi-epic 14er, 3rd class, a climber above us had fell. Tried to render aid as he was pretty bloodied up but he was going to soldier back down.

Said he thought the helmet saved his life.

Finished any debate in my mind. Some risks are more controllable than others but all accidents strike like a thief in the night. Being age 19 or 69 is irrelevant.

my 14er count has not exceeded my 12er/13er count since 2018 and i'm really pleased with that statistic
