Mt. Garfield Drone Footage

Post by mikefromcraig »

Drone footage of Mt. Garfield from about 5 years ago (not my footage). I always liked Garfield. Not technical but a lot of elevation gain. If you live in Grand Junction you can do it after getting off work. Yes, the interstate and the town of grand junction take away from the serenity but it's nice to get a different perspective on them.

Thanks! Interesting that they focus so much on the "mud rib" at the start of the hike. The middle part of the hike and final headwall to the summit cap are far more enjoyable!

Yep, Great hike. Very scenic, and like most summits a 5 star rewarding vista. Since we moved out this way I've done it regular in the spring and early summer. I compare it to Mt Morrison or the incline in Colorado Springs. Approximately 2 mile round trip and a touch less than 2,000' gain. I've seen wild horses and even a black bear near the top.

The video is five years old, you can probably find something better.
