I'm going to be in the Red Lodge area soon, and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for trails and/or peaks in the Beartooth Mountains area.
Must do/should do/consider doing/etc...
I am looking for dog-friendly terrain/trails and summits (almost yr old, ~70% Great Pyrenees fur-ball of joy).
I have an outdoor recreation map of the Beartooth Mountains for MT/WY and have looked it over. Still fair amount of snow up there just like here too.
Thanks,
Darin

Re: Rec's: MT/Beartooths region
I have only done super short trails around Beartooth Pass....for photo opportunities. But having driven over that pass several times, it's similar to Trail Ridge or Going to the Sun...except I think even better. So I recommend anywhere above treeline in that area! TONS of wildflowers. Grizzly country too.

West and East Forks of Rock Creek makes a nice semi-loop (we used a taxi to go between the two) and there are a lot of peaks to climb along the way, starting at class 2.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
