Who Got the Most Snow?

Post by JTOlson26 »

I know the storm isn't over, but living in Ohio, I like to live vicariously through those of you who are getting pummeled by the storm!

My parents live near the Teller County/Douglas County line and got around 36 inches.

So, what did everyone get so far? Pictures welcome!

Cheers!

About 2' in Manitou proper. I'm hearing the incline or near halfway is much more than that.
Good stuff!

All I know is that it wasn't us. We got 0".

It's mostly an East Slope storm. Even in the mountains it didn't snow that much in Western Colorado.

Estimate we got ~15" in NE Colorado Springs. Maybe a bit more.

I always love the fall and spring storms that hammer the front range area because of how much moisture and snowfall potential they bring. I remember two in particular when we lived in Woodland park n the 90s. I think one was late October of 1997 and another was mid/late April of 1999. My dad used to pile up a bunch of snow and then have me and my friends jump into it from the second story deck railing.

I measured 15" on my deck this morning, this is in the Rockrimmon area, west of I25. I noticed it was snowing most of yesterday afternoon but not really sticking (you could tell from the streets that were plowed late morning). I think it was just barely cold enough to snow. I think more fell from the sky then I can measure on the ground at any one time. The Denver Post https://www.denverpost.com/2024/03/13/c ... -march-13/ (sorry if paywall) gives 2 feet for Colorado Springs, which seem a bit high to me. Usually downtown and the east side (airport) gets less snow in these things, that's where I assume the measurement for Colorado Springs is taken. It says 26" for the Air Force Academy, that I believe. The closer to the Palmer divide the more snow, usually. I am looking forward to how white Pike's will be once the clouds clear.

40” storm total here in Guffey. The most snow I’ve seen since the blizzard of 93 (when I lived in the Hudson Valley).

Pikes is going to be caked and I am looking forward to seeing that too!

I'm curious where they (9news from post above) got the 40" measurement for Manitou.
