It's mostly an East Slope storm. Even in the mountains it didn't snow that much in Western Colorado.
Telluride reported 5" overnight and 13'' in last 48 hours.
Monarch reported 15" in last 24 hours.
I drove over Monarch getting back home from Eastern Colorado and the road was pretty bad. It was dry by the time I hit Gunnison (though it probably snowed since then). The Grand Mesa got about 12"

Those totals for Telluride you post are what I meant by "even in the mountains it didn't snow that much in Western Colorado". 13" at Telluride in 48 hours isn't much. Aspen has a 48 hour total of 5", Crested Butte 4 1/2". Wolf Creek is the Western Colorado winner with 19" in 72 hours, but that's not really a big storm by Wolf Creek standards. The snow in Western Colorado is certainly welcome, but it wasn't a big storm out here and definitely not the biggest of the season.

Pikes is going to be caked and I am looking forward to seeing that too!

I'm curious where they (9news from post above) got the 40" measurement for Manitou.

Telluride got more snow than DIA from this storm.

My sister and her husband live in between evergreen and conifer. They got about 36". Blew the motor on the ATV trying to plow their very steep driveway and got an SUV stuck trying to pull out the ATV. They'll be there for a few days. Roads are too slick and snow covered for a tow truck to even try right now.

Well that would explain the higher totals than in town. CP is quite a bit higher than Manitou.
Regardless, awesome results from this upslope.

I am guessing rijaca works for the san miguel chamber of commerce. I don't know about DIA, but Telluride got less than 4 inches. Been a pattern this season. Storms seem to just skim past the San Juans. Last week Montrose got 8" and T-Ride only a trace. March is typically the highest accumulation of snow out here, but so far, looks like the 20 drought pattern is firmly entrenched.

Funny that the official measuring station, DIA, got 5.7 inches. while the locations where people actually live were all (mostly all) at a foot and above. So some year if someone looked up largest March snowfalls, this storm doesn't even rate.

Had 2-3" in Avon/Edwards Wednesday night, melted before I got home from work Thursday and roads were totally dry. I am in Crested Butte for the weekend and driving over monarch yesterday afternoon was just wet with a few slushy spots. Light snow in CB now but the resorts west of the divide didn't get much. Monarch being easy of the divide and wolf creek on it fared better but otherwise this was a light system for the western mountains.

For those who got 4-5ft of snow, lets see some photos of that. That's a decent amount for one storm!

I think rijaca was referring to their 48 hour total which was 13 inches according to the Telluride ski resort website.

The official amount for Conifer was 40". We live a bit higher than the town and are at 8,800'. My estimation is we got closer to 48".
