ok now maybe circling back to Peak One?

although not entirely encouraging - but some snow factors for extra spice could make it all the more fun?

dillon amp webcam gives great look!

The only part of Peak 1 that might be problematic would be the final section where there is a fairly steep gully to the summit ridge which faces Northwest I believe. I suspect there may be some snow holding in there that might make that section tricky. Spikes should help with that.

well s**t people - i coulda used that headsup about av conditions yesterday.

as i was jamming around up behind eisenhower tunnel - sort of at will as i was able to cruise around just about everywhere - got up to Coon Hill!

but i was also at times on pretty steep slopes. that whole drainage is NE facing -sort of sheltered all the time from sun a little - may explain why i could walk on it.

but all this chatter now has me rethinking peak one? that upper upper section is pretty loaded with snow.

dang it people - that's why i was asking around before- my spidey sense is saying it is a bit unusual right now.

Where do you get these satellite images from? I am considering giving Tab a go this Saturday weather dependent (forecasts keep going back and forth on rain this day but look good as of this morning) but all of the recent photos seem to focus on just the angel on Shavano. From what I am seeing the standard route looks pretty dry but I just want to get as much info as possible.

well the original 48hrs has expanded obviously - and the plan has now re-centered on Peak One actually.

May well get turned around at the very top if too gnarly? But I have been juggling like 10 ideas and nothing else looks like slam dunk either. Homesteak was the runner up but Peak one has been right in my face my whole life so chance to get up there enticing anyway.

SHoulda gone today but that av news threw me a little - so going tmw morning - will update!

Got it done on Peak One today!

That is an asskicker - and great day today in the snowier conditions. Two trail runners blew my doors off up there too - and one lone dude from Illinois too.

Thanks for following this saga - dialing in these early ones can be challenging and fun.
