Kansas Guy Looking For a Climbing Partner or Group

Post by Bryan Pate »

I am an intermediate climber from Wichita Kansas area wanting to complete summits of all 58 Colorado 14er's. I am a moderately active individual as a marathon runner and cyclist. I have completed 9 14er summits, three including Class 3 routes.

Climbing mostly solo, I have learned It's best to find a partner or a group for social and safety reasons for the remainder of my climbs. Because of my Kansas location I end up spending a lot of traveling time for climbing in Colorado and try to complete 2 or 3 climbs each trip, when possible. It would be nice to find a partner I could benefit the long drive with or meting up at the trail head would also work for me.

I just completed Quandary Peak (May 17), my first metrological winter climb, and hope to complete (but not limited to) the following summits this year:
DeCaLiBron Combo
Bierstadt/Blue Sky Combo
Sherman
Yale
Harvard/Columbia Combo

I may have opportunity for more climbing if I can find a partner that we can mutually encourage each other and want to do more. I am also interested in climbing 13ers, but have no goal. My daily work commitments allow me to get away when needed, most of the time.

Any interest? Any group recommendations?
Thanks!

I’m originally from Wichita, as well. I’ve done everything on your list, except for Harvard/Columbia. Let me know when you’re out here, maybe we can do one of those.
