Conditions on 2nd Flatiron?
Has anyone been out on the 2nd Flatiron? Is it clear of snow and ice? Thanks!

What would you say is the best location to check to conditions? Mountain Project and see the ticks for if it's been climbed recently and if the condition was shared?

Re: Conditions on 2nd Flatiron?
Generally if you get a few sunny days after a snow storm you'll be able to climb the 2nd if you do the right-side start and avoid the direct line. The face gets lots of sun and melts quickly. The step-over though just before the final "summit" section can be icy though. And of course the trail to and from might necessitate spikes.

MP is good, or you can filter the Strava Segment by day/week: https://www.strava.com/segments/3642748
Strava gets way more hits than MP, bc Boulder

Careful if the step around that little pinnacle before the final pitch is icy,

Re: Conditions on 2nd Flatiron?
I went up Freeway yesterday and it was completely dry. I recommend bringing spikes to use on the descent down the trail because any shaded section of trail is packed, slick snow and there are some areas of death ice. But the rock itself is good to go.
