When does 4th of July TH parking fill?

Post by Ecocrazy »

How early do you have to get to Fourth of July TH on a random July weekday to get a spot these days? And if it's full, do you have to drive back down to Ned to get the shuttle?

Don't know on timing but just as FYI the shuttle does not go to 4th of July TH, only Hessie. https://bouldercounty.gov/open-space/pa ... trailhead/

Just to give you a data point, the parking lot was full at 8 AM yesterday, and people were starting to park along the road. There are a few legal spots to park along the road on your way back to the Hessie TH. I was surprised at how many cars were still in the lot and along the road when I got back from my walk after dark (I'm a slow walker). There were also a number of cars driving up the road after dark, presumably to camp for the night and get an early start.
