If you were on Barr Trail this morning (15 July)

Post by H I McDunnough »

I doubt the person in question will see this - but just in case:

If you were the one who left your poo and toilet paper RIGHT ON THE TRAIL late Monday 7/14 or early Tuesday, 7/15 - you are not a good person and you should not be allowed in public spaces.

That is all.

Are you saying this person should be barred from hiking this trail in the future?

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

Seriously - please don't do stuff like this on trails.

I saw the same thing on the trail up to Red Peak in the Gores on Sunday. Maybe we have a serial TP'er on our hands....

BTMR is this next weekend. I've seen in the past where this happened around the dates for the PPA/PPM. Some of those runners DGAF when nature calls. Incliners on Barr Trail only come down the trail and also know that there's a nice porcelain $hitter at the trailhead lot...

If said perpetrator is indeed a STP (serial trail pooper) perhaps he should be given a moniker such as "3P" (the Pikes Peak Pooper) or the Barr Trail Boweler. Lol

I've been a pacer (support crew) for runners on the Leadville 100 a couple of times.

Yes, serious calls of nature do regularly happen.

1) I always carry a trowel
2) I always tell the runner to move WELL off the trail
3) I dig a LNT pit and bury the poop

No one has ever complained.

I’ve ran the PPA four times, paced Moab 240 and Leadville. It happens…
